Personal Style Aesthetic

Describe your personal style in 3 words. This is a loaded question, is it not? But seriously, how do you want others to describe your style? This question is top of the list when I chat with first time clients. Words like ‘chic’, ‘classic’ and ‘put-together’ come up quite a bit; but what’s classic to me might be something totally different to you. Knowing yourself is the first step to establishing your style aesthetic.

Personal style is just that, it’s PERSONAL. When I’m wearing something I love (insert flares / bodysuits / pumps / blazers), it makes me feel like me but on steroids. To follow trends blindly is essentially cloning your look with every other trend following Jane Doe in the world. Where’s the fun, the individuality, the spunk, the YOU? Your interests, hobbies, musical preferences, even favorite colors can influence your style aesthetic.

By definition aesthetic refers to a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of beauty, art, and taste and with the creation and appreciation of beauty. Mixing and matching style types is a great way to create your own vibe.

For example, the 70’s fashion scene has always spoken to me. Wearing flare jeans, even when they weren’t ‘on trend’, made me feel like the most authentic version of myself. My soul was in harmony with my outfit. THAT my friends is the goal. Get dressed up for you. Life is the occasion!

My Style Icons

Khloe Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Sabrina (Sasa) Lopez. These ladies push it to the MAX. They don’t turn down, they go for it. They don’t waist a day or an outfit, and neither should you. I draw inspiration from these fierce females and their stylish outfits. For some additional style inspo, check out my Total Look Pinterest board below.
